Macher Jhura!!

Macher jhura is my all time favourite. I still remember when my mother used to make it specially during rainy days with left over fish. Continuing the legacy, I prepare the same in my kitchen. A tasty twist to ignored, left-over fish:-)

Macher Jhura
Ingredients: 4pcs shallow fried fish(fresh water fish), 1 chopped onion, 5-6 chopped garlic cloves, 4-5 chopped green chillies(as per taste), 1/2 cup chopped green coriander, mustard oil, 1.5 tblspn red chilli powder

Method:

  • Crumble the fried fish roughly with your hands in a big bowl into bite size pcs
  • Mix all the ingredients together with 1 tblspn of oil except the coriander leaves
  • Heat 2-3 tblspns oil in a pan
  • Once the oil turns smoking hot, put the mixture in the pan
  • Start cooking in low flame
  • Give about 20 minutes till the mixture turns light brown
  • Adjust the seasoning
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with white rice
